Will & Nan Grant

On September 25th, 2009 God united Will and Nan Jane Grant in marriage. As one we are grateful for God allowing us to serve together for HIS kingdom. Currently, Will is preparing for his technical evaluation with MAF, scheduled for spring of 2010. Will currently serves as a flight instructor for Servant Wings. He is also working full time as an A & P mechanic in Hillsboro, Oregon.  Nan is busy setting up our new home in Oregon.  In addition, we are praying that God will open doors for Nan to use her teaching background from Moody Bible Institute to serve on the field with MAF. Please pray for God to prepare and direct to bring truth and life to the nations. Our prayer is that God’s name will be glorified.

Eric & Kristine Reed

We joined Servant Wings in 2008 to help Eric build the flight time and experience he needs to join Mission Aviation Fellowship as a Pilot/IT combo. Eric has his commercial license and finished his instrument rating with Servant Wings. Eric is currently attending Portland Community College to complete an IT (Informational Technology) program. Kristine has her teaching degree and is looking for work as a teacher in a school district. We are excited to be part of Servant Wings because it not only allows Eric to build flight and mechanical experience, but also puts us in touch with a great group of mentors to help us along the path to missions. We hope to be ready to apply to MAF by July 2010.
Grant Kainu

I joined Servant wings in 2009 to gain the flight training and mechanical experience needed to apply to MAF as a pilot/mechanic candidate. I chose Servant Wings because in my opinion they: flat out offer the best mentorship, accountability, training and overall guidance out of any other flight training organization I’ve seen available in the area.  They also have a strong focus on Christ and goal of prepping students to join a mission aviation organization. Currently I am wrapping up my private pilot’s license (this fall) and plan to continue to work towards my commercial license and instrument rating. Starting January 2010 I will attend PCC Hillsboro’s A&P program to work on my mechanic skills.

Brian & Becca Wilson

Brian and Becca moved to Portland, Oregon in the winter of 2009 after Brian completed a nine-year tour in the U.S. Navy.  Since their marriage in July of 2007, Brian and Becca knew that Jesus had called them to a life of ministry.  It was this calling that led them to the Pacific Northwest.  In June of 2009, Brian and Becca were able to join Servant Wings and continue their training.  Brian hopes to finish his Private Pilot rating by the middle of September 2009, and plans to begin school at PCC in the Aviation Maintenance Technology program to get his A&P license.  Becca is already a certified teacher with two years experience.  They both hope to join MAF in the beginning of 2013 when they will have completed all required qualifications.

Adam & Jessica Oravetz

In the summero of 2007 Jessica and I moved to Portland to pursue service through missionary aviation. Adam is currently training, as an Airframe and Powerplant mechanic, at PCC (Portland Community College). We are involved with ServantWings to grow through fellowship with similar passioned people.  People who use aviation as a means for bringing Jesus to people of the world. Adam plans to start flight training with SW upon finishing up with PCC. We would like to be in the mission field in 2-3 years.

Mike and Angie Johnson

We joined Servant Wings in the Fall of 2009.  Mike has been an aircraft mechanic for four years at a local regional airline and Angie watches their 1 1/2 year old son Colton and our niece during the week.  Mike is a private pilot working on his instrument and commercial licensees.  Servant Wings will be a great avenue to finish the rest of Mike's training.  Not only does Servant Wings provide some great training but they also desire to mentor us candidates and provide accountability.  He also hopes to share some of his maintenance experience with the other candidates as well as gaining more experience working on general aviation aircraft.  We both share a love of everything aviation and would like to serve God in this field.  We hope to join JAARS by 2013.
